Design Overview

The FI-STAR system is actually the encapsulation of different groups of functions, all of which serve specific purposes in the day to day operations of an investment bank.

The Trading System follows the typical work flow of the trading floor of an investment bank. The system breaks the work flow into stages, and each of the stages is reflected by one of four screens: Current Market, Trade Entry, Trade Blotter and Risk Position.

The Risk Manager handles the risk management aspect of trading. It encompasses Report Designer, Portfolio Watcher and Scenario Analyzer.

The Administration Processor facilitates various administrative activities. Through this window you may add and remove users and products featured in the trading system or modify the settings for users and products already in the system.

The Calculator Center refers to a collection of web based calculators which cover various costs and measurements which might arise in trading.

The Accessories provide support to the other sections of FI-STAR. The tools in this component perform basic tasks which may be needed in more complex operations in the system.
